07.29.08 New audio demo for Just As I Am plus transposeable chord charts.
06.23.08 New audio demo for America the Beautiful 2002 plus transposeable chord charts.
06.03.08 Change Key! While it's always been possible to change
the key of HymnCharts arrangements with Finale
or Sibelius, Finale music has made this easier
and FREE with NotePad 2008! Install NotePad
for free and you have an almost INSTANT transpose
function! Watch my new 1 minute video tutorial to learn
how. In the past you could change key with NotePad
but it would mess up the spacing. This no
longer seems to be the case. PLUS I am trying something new... transposeable chord charts. Try my first experiment with chord charts
(WordCharts) you can transpose to any key:
the first one I've done is America the Beautiful 2008. Let me know what you think. I plan on doing away with the text versions
because, as far as I can tell, nobody uses
them.
06.03.08 New arrangement America the Beautiful 2008. You now have 2 choices: the ballad 2003 version or this new rocking version.
05.14.08 Short version of Blest Be the Tie That Binds. This version has one verse for a quick
benediction.
05.07.08 New arrangement Blest Be the Tie That Binds. This is the full arrangement with a key
change. I'm preparing a shorter, one verse
version later this week.
04-10-08 New arrangement Jesus I Come.
03.05.08 New audio, revised parts for Jesus Paid It
All.
News & Tips:
Convert MIDI to audio! Many of the HymnCharts arrangements have
not been recorded yet, and I'm often asked
if the MIDI files can be played on an audio
CD. Until now, the answer was no - MIDI is
data - there's no sound involved. However,
several subscribers has told me that they
can now create an audio CD with the MIDI
files through iTunes. Ron Hunt writes:
"All you have to do
is create a playlist
in iTunes with MIDI files.
Then right-click
on each one that you want
converted and select
"Convert Selection
to AAC." The
song will then be converted
and can be found
in the "Recently Added"
folder.
Check the boxes next to
the song titles that
you want to burn, then
click on the "Burn
Disc" icon. Pretty
simple!" Thanks,
Ron, for the quick tutorial!
Mother's Day: I haven't found any decent Mother's Day
songs or hymns out there that would work
in my ministry. The one hymn I've found that
most people use is For the Beauty of the Earth. Another idea I've uncovered is a new Mother's Day text from the Lutheran Church of Australia that
works with the hymn tune Savior Like a Shepherd Lead Us and Come Thou Long Expected Jesus. You might try having a child soloist sing
the first two verses and the mothers sing
the 3rd verse.
